The management of ChemTech has always believed that deforestation is a major issue that we face. Pakistan is now a country known to have the highest rate of deforestation in all Asia. Depleting tree cover is becoming an existential threat that needs our collective will and efforts to handle the issue.

The Global Climate Risk Index has placed Pakistan on the fifth spot on the list of countries most vulnerable to climate change in its annual report for 2020. Pakistan is serving as a forest-poor country. The Worldwide
recommended level for forests is 20-25 per cent of land area whereas in our country only about 4.34 million ha
(4.8 per cent).

ChemTech undertakes a plantation drive every year to create awareness among its employees about the issue. We have planted more than 1500 tees within our factory and its vicinity – and the number is growing.
